The 2019 vintage of Walter Scott's X Novo Chardonnay from Oregon's Eola-Amity Hills is a compelling example of the region's potential for producing world-class Chardonnays. This wine offers palate-piercing flavors of bitter herb, lemon zest, grapefruit, apple, and green melon. It's compact and extremely youthful, with details and accents that lie within, which can be teased out with extra aeration. The wine is aromatic and inviting, showing just a little of the impact of aging in some new barrels. It's recommended to drink this wine from 2024 to 2034.
